Andy Cohen has made his career as a blues musician who describes his ouevre as the music “of the southeast quadrant, America’s great musical fountainhead.” Most of the music Cohen has recorded was once on 78’s,including not only the blues, but gospel, country dance, fiddle tunes, ballads, classic rags, ditties, and boogies. “Shuffle Rag” is a youthful release from early in Cohen’s career, and will be fascinating for fans of his work as well as pleasing to the ears of anyone who is a fan of the Folk Revival of the 1970s.
