You're invited to Appalshop community listening sessions

We are very excited to invite the Appalshop community to a series of community listening sessions.

You last heard from Appalshop about our ongoing work to strengthen our internal culture at the end of the summer, when we shared the steps we'd already implemented at our Roadside Theater and across all of Appalshop.

Since then, we've completed an internal equity evaluation with an organization called Equity Quotient, and contracted with another one, Ronnie Bryant, LLC, to coach our staff and overhaul Appalshop's employee policies so that they're in line with our values — truth, justice, equity, and inclusion.

Now we're excited to invite you — our Appalshop community — to a series of community listening sessions.

We want to hear from you about your experiences at Appalshop in the past, and your hopes for us in the future. Former staff and students, current neighbors and supporters — if you consider yourself part of the Appalshop community, we invite you to give your input at one of the following sessions:

March 24 — in person at Appalshop, 6:30-7:00PM, dinner served

Register

These sessions will be facilitated by Pam McMichael, who brings deep experience in our region from her life and time at the Highlander Center, KFTC, ACLU-KY, The Fairness Campaign, SURJ, Southerners on New Ground, and the Kentucky Poor People's Campaign.

Prefer to share your thoughts on-on-one? That's an option, too. You can sign up to schedule a confidential one-on-one with Pam at the link here.

We're so thrilled to be in partnership with you, and eager to provide intentional space for our community to be in conversation with each other as much as with us.

Join us. We want to hear from you — our community.
