New Year, New Album

All of us at Appalshop want to wish you the best as we begin a new year. Here’s to 2025 being inspiring and invigorating, and we look forward to being in community with all of you. We cannot thank you enough for your continued support. As we look towards this year, we have quite a few updates to share with you…

Pandemic Folk Songs

June Appal Recordings is happy to announce that preorders are NOW OPEN for the limited-edition vinyl release of Cornelius Eady Trio's Don't Get Dead: Pandemic Folk Songs. The LP is limited to 125 copies, with 100 on black vinyl. The album has a vinyl-exclusive tracklist and can be preordered on June Appal's Bandcamp page

Eady, Pulitzer Prize–nominee and National Book Award Finalist, describes these songs as a “musical diary, from the early shock, fear and confusion of March, 2020, through the white hot center of the body count.” As we approach the fifth anniversary of the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, these songs showcase a real-time experience of living and artmaking amid the uncertainty. The full album is available for digital stream and download now, alongside many of our other June Appal albums, including recent releases from Don Rogers, Matthew Stallard, and the critically acclaimed compilation No Options: Hip Hop in Appalachia.

All preorders will ship around the official release date of March 25, 2025.
