John McCutcheon

A Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, John McCutcheon has produced 40 albums since the 1970s. McCutcheon is a master hammered dulcimer player as well as a player of the banjo, autoharp, fiddle, and jawharp, which he learned at the feet of Appalachian greats like I.D. Stamper and Si Kahn, who have also released work on Appalshop’s record label. “How Can I Keep From Singing?” is vintage McCutcheon at his best.
