Join us for Pick and Bow’s Spring Semester

January 16, 2022

We’re excited to announce open enrollment for the spring session of Appalshop’s traditional music program Passing the Pick and Bow.

Sign Up for Passing the Pick & Bow Music Classes

Our after-school Appalachian music program, Passing the Pick and Bow, puts banjos, fiddles, guitars and mandolins in the hands of nearly 100 students and community members each year. The Pick and Bow program is part of our broader mission to foster pride and connection to Appalachian arts and culture. Click here for more information about the program.

Pick and Bow is often the only music education that our local children and teens get. After lessons from traditional master musicians for eight weeks, it’s students’ turn to perform at the end of the session.
