EUREKA! Also, Mountain Talk!

The WMMT transmitter has triumphantly returned to functionality

Around 11 a.m. today (Wednesday), a most joyous noise sprang suddenly forth from the stillness and the grey silence that had overtaken the WMMT office over the past 48 hours–did our ears deceive us, or was this celestial noise pouring forth from our very own speakers, set to our very own radio station?  Could it be true?  Yes, it had to be true, we were hearing it live, but we pinched our elbows just to be sure, yes, yes it was true. . . . it was bluegrass!  And just like that, we were back on the air!

Thank all of you for bearing with us as we awaited the aid of the power company, and we hope that those of you in the listening area will rejoin us for your favorite WMMT programming.  Particularly, we invite you to join us tonight at 6 for Mountain Talk, WMMT’s weekly community discussion on issues of interest to us all.  Tonight’s show will focus  upon renewable energy and energy efficiency opportunities for eastern Kentucky, featuring special guests Matt Partymiller and Nathan Hall.  Feel free, as always, to call in with your questions and comments, and thank you, as always, for listening to and supporting the Best Little Radio Station in the Whole Wide World.
