By Sylvia Ryerson - March 2010 In March 2010, I travelled to Big Stone Gap Virginia, to meet with Janie Dockery, the director of children’s services at at MEOC, the Mountain Empire Older Citizens Center in Big Stone Gap. The center works to prevent child abuse, and to provide treatment and intervention for children who have been physically or sexually abused.
