Who doesn’t love a treasure hunt, well someone I guess – but then this story is not for them. The advent of the Internet and widespread availability of GPS, or global positioning technology has given birth to a new pastime called Geocaching, Community Correspondent Mike Slone brought us this story –
In the last story – people find a place and what is in it and they place things in another place for someone else to find. Sometimes though, a place no matter how important, or filled with memories and memorials, can be at risk of changing so much that it is no longer recognizable. Some places cease to exist altogether. Lora Smith produced this story about one such place.
In the coalfields, coal and people’s relationship to coal is an essential part of this place. In this essay, Nattasha Watts talks about her relationship with coal, and with this place she calls home.
