1-Boston Celtics - they are the defending champions and they are going to be tuff to beat with k.g and Ray Allen and Paul Pierce also watch out for Rajon Rondo from Kentucky i Think he will have a breakout year for Boston
2-New Jersey Nets - they got some good young players in Devin Harris and Brooke Lopez also they still have Vince Carter who can score with the best of them.
3-Toronto Raptors- With Chris Bosh and Jermaine O' Neil they will be competitive
4-Philadelphia 76ers- They pick up Eldon Brand who they hope will get them some scoring but they have a way to go

It feels good to be back in touch with WMMT and Appalshop. My wife & I visited Whitesburg for the first time last summer and while there we spoke with my son's friend, Derek. You all are a busy bunch of people! And, what an education in film & sound work. I love your music. We don't get this good of a variety in Louisville. You folks at Appalshop keep up the good work & we'll keep listening.

WMMT's BIRTHDAY STORY!

5:12 p.m., November 26, 1985, a truly historic moment

After an arduous journey, the Appalshop, convinced that its mission to let mountain people speak for themselves should be expanded, brought to the airwaves of central Appalachia an incredible new voice, 88.7 WMMT-FM.

MOUNTAIN TALK TUESDAY NOVEMBER 27th, at 7:00 PM

On Mountain Talk this evening at 7:00 we will step past the debate about whether global warming is real or not and simply ask the question - If it is real what does that mean for Kentucky, our energy policy, and our economy? Join the discussion call 1 888 396-1208!

New story by the Community Correspondents Corps

The conversation about climate change has gone from a debate about whether it is fact or fiction to a global dialogue about what can be done to address it. In the coalfields, the conversation is also being incorporated into discussions about economic conversion. Communities in located in coal producing areas are beginning to examine the prospects for economies not based on extractive industries like coal and natural gas. Recently a regional alliance of citizen groups came together to talk about coalfield community economic conversion. The guest speaker was Dr. Lloyd Jeff Dumas, professor of economics and political economy at The University of Texas at Dallas. Visit the Community Correspondent Corps to listen to this story.
