Portraits and Dreams documents an innovative photography project undertaken by schoolchildren from eastern Kentucky with the help of photographer/educator Wendy Ewald. Originally produced as a slide show, the videotape shows the beautiful and startling photographs made by the children of their families, their friends, their animals, and their dreams. Five of the young photographers comment on their photos and the life they describe.
