The fifth generation of musicians in their families to carry on the tradition of playing and singing bluegrass and traditional Appalachian music. Gary Brewer, well known in bluegrass circles, tours nationally and internationally with his band, Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers. While on tour with Bill and James Monroe during their 1994 Father and Son Tour, Bill often introduced Gary as, '100% bluegrass, one of the finest guitar players I've ever heard, and a mighty powerful singer.' Phillip Sexton, son of Lee Sexton and great-nephew of Morgan Sexton, provides an excellent example of changing musical traditions. Phil is a seasoned musician and performs with his father as part of the Lee Sexton Band.
