June Appal is pleased to announce that All Join Hands!, our newest release, is now available for purchase. A benefit for the Cowan Creek Mountain Music School, this CD features 9 wonderful cuts perfect for square dancing. An excellent CD for the caller without a band, people who love to dance, or who just love good traditional music. While intended for dancing, the songs on this CD are just as good for listening. Charlie Whitaker provides suggestions for calling and a wonderful cast of musicians provide the tunes. A great CD for a great cause!

The Cowan Creek Music School happens the last week of June and offers classes in traditional music, dance and storytelling for youth and adults. It represents a remarkable partnership between a community of old time musicians who wish to pass on the tradition and the staff and volunteers of the Cowan Community Center, who work to create a safe and nurturing environment for their own and their neighbor's children. They have seen that young people who learn to play an instrument, find their singing voice, call a square dance, or tell their own stories grow up with confidence, a sense of belonging, and pride in who they are and where they are from. Your purchase of this recording will help assure that even more kids have this opportunity. All proceeds froim this project will go toward the youth scholarship fund which, since the school's founding in 2002, has provided scholarships for over 150 children.
