The Bird Walk
Posted: June 4th, 2010
The great outdoors are calling, Seedtimers!
Early risers can join US Forest Service birder Lois Boggs from 8am-1pm Saturday, June 12th for a special guided hike and bird tour. Hikers will meet at the Marathon Gas Station near Stateline on US 23 and hike to the Old Meade Homeplace and back.
The Bird Walk will cover roughly 5 miles. Bring binoculars, bird guides, sturdy shoes or boots, hat, sunscreen and raingear, and your own water and snacks. The hike expects to see early successional-habitat birds, mature-forest birds, grassland birds, and raptors.
