The Appalshop Archive is working to preserve Appalshop Films/Videos and June Appal Recordings. To date over 25 of the collections’ films have been preserved and work is underway on video and audio recordings.  While we are making progress on safeguarding the collections, many more original films, videotapes and audiotapes are in need of protection from physical deterioration. Preservation means duplicating the original elements by making new projection prints and negatives (for film), new analog and digital videotape copies (for video) and duplicate audiotapes, new masters and CD’s (for audio).

The Appalshop Archive needs your assistance in completing various preservation projects. With your support, you can help preserve Appalshop’s rich collection of Appalachian related media for future generations to come. For more information, please contact 606-633-0108 or archive@appalshop.org.
