Roadside Theater Advisory Board

An important part of Roadside Theater's structure is its National Advisory Board of leading theater practitioners and scholars. The board meets quarterly via the internet and in-person when opportunities present themselves. Theater is a collaborative art, and we are gratified by the generous support of these individuals.

• Jan Cohen-Cruz is a scholar/practitioner of activist and community-based performance. She is Director of Imagining America at Syracuse University.
• Michael Keck is a composer, playwright, and performer whose music and soundscapes have contributed to productions at The Kennedy Center, Mark Taper Forum, Cincinnati Playhouse, Geva Theater, Alliance Theater, Portland Center Stage, and others.
• Robert Leonard is an associate professor in the Department of Theatre Arts at Virginia Tech, where he focuses specifically on ensemble processes, collaborative creation of new work, and community partnerships.
• Bill Rauch is artistic director and co-founder of Cornerstone Theater Company and has directed over 40 of the company's productions, many of them collaborations with diverse communities within Cornerstone's home city of Los Angeles and across the nation.
• Rosalba Rolón, a playwright, director, and performer, worked extensively with Latino theaters in New York City prior to founding Pregones Theater in 1979, where she now serves as the ensemble company's artistic director.
• Edward Wemytewa, of Zuni, New Mexico is the founding director of Idiwanan an Chawe (Children of the Middle Place), the first and only Zuni language theater. He is also an elected member of the Zuni Tribal Council, a playwright, performer, and visual artist.
